Counseling Services
Counseling Services: Offers affordable individual, couple, family and child counseling provided by master level therapists who carry State of Michigan certifications. Issues are addressed in a safe and supportive environment include but are not limited to:
depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, abuse and emotional trauma, couples and parent-child relationship issues, childhood problems, substance abuse and recovery, addictions, anger management and communication skills.
The expertise of the STVCC Counseling Center is available to the public without referral and services are offered on a sliding scale fee basis to those with limited income. Referrals are also accepted from Family Court and Department of Human Services. Most major insurances are accepted.

Types of Services Provided
Health issues are addressed in a safe and supportive environment by Master Level therapists with post master’s degree training. Issues treated include but are not limited to:
- Survivors of trauma
- Survivors of rape and incest
- Childhood issues
- Grief and loss counseling
- Substance abuse and recovery
- Personal crisis and legal issues
- Family and couples conflict resolution
- Low self-esteem
- Anxiety and depression
- Addiction
- Anger Management
Accessing Counseling Services
- Services are available to residents of Ingham, Clinton and Eaton Counties. Services are available to people of all beliefs, ethnicities, genders, disabilities or ages.
- Most major insurances are accepted.
- Services are available on a sliding fee scale to those with limited income.
- Interpretation and translation services can be made available in a variety of languages.

STVCC Counseling Services Hours and Location
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Extended hours are available.
- Session length is usually 55 minutes.

History of STVCC Counseling Services
For over fifty years the STVCC Counseling Services has made mental health counseling accessable to individuals, children, couples and families in the tri-county area (Ingham, Clinton and Eaton counties). Services are intended to provide the help needed to promote and support social and emotional well-being.
Coordinating with the other STVCC programs, the STVCC Counseling Services benefits from training, in-service seminars and human resource sharing. There is also physical resource sharing which keeps costs down.
