    History of STVCC ILC

STVCCThe STVCC Immigration Law Clinic began in 1997 when the Refugee Services program received a grant from the Emma Lazarus Fund to assist persons to apply for naturalization. Refugee Services hired an attorney to manage this project. This funding was matched by funds from the Diocese of Lansing and the new service area began to assist resettled persons in immigration matters other than naturalization, such as residency and family reunification. Within two years, the immigration program was serving the community in a variety of immigration matters. The program received recognition by the Board of Immigration Appeals and also serves as an internship site for area law schools. The STVCC ILC attorneys are highly respected experts in the field of immigration law and offer friendly, confidential counseling and quality legal representation.
